Illumination

I was about 7 years old when I rode in a plane for the first time. I can remember the plane taking off the ground and everything getting smaller and smaller. I remember thinking how small the people were and then recognizing that to them it was me who was really getting smaller. For the first time I saw the world as a whole and realized how insignificant of a role I played in it. All the worries I thought about and the boy problems I had at the time, didn't really matter. My epiphany was that my entire world, which consumed me, was in fact such a small thing. I was just an "ant" among billions of others in this world.
